This Biography was written to test my memory over the last 85 years to see where it would take me and for the hopeful benefit of my three natural children who know little of my life in Australia after they were rushed back to UK by my first Wife after a bitter Divorce and my second marriage.
Subsequently my three Step Children and Foster Daughter Christine know little of my life before I married their Mother Lisa in Australia.
I always regretted not talking to my parents about their early lives in the “Wild Twenties”, as when young one cannot imagine
one’s parents being bright young things. I am hoping that all of my children (now adaults in mid life) will find the time in their busy lives to read my words. Perhaps other readers may recall their own memories that are similar to my times.
I am not a natural writer like my deceased Wife Lisa, but I do find it amusing to recall some of the memorable recollections
and indeed fantasies I may have had in my more unusual situations.
Lisa Timms, who wrote these diaries was born in Nottingham, U.K., she had three children in her first marriage. They immegrated to Australia in 1981, she divorced and married John Timms in 1983 and worked in Brisbane for Welfare Rights as a volunteer in a quasi-legal position after training at Queenaland Univercity. After having a successful career in real estate in retirement and now owning several properties, John and Lisa toured Australia over a period of years between January 2004 and March2010. They both returned to U.K. for family reasons, her three children have careers in Queensland. John Timms published "Should I Gowalkabout in Australia"(Diary1) plus "Should I Gowalkabout in Australia Again"(Diaries2 & 3) posthumously in his wife's memory, she had always wanted to write a book.
